Bitcoin (BTC) fork coin

Bitcoin in last months has been forked over and over  but is not all really forked … most of that  its new coin who make snapshoot of btc chain and give same amount ( or different amount – rule change always)  using your wallet address as refeer.

So how can i claim the new fork coin ???

That should not be a issue  , it must be  if you want fork coin proceed always with caution and always always always move your Bitcoin to a new wallet first ( its not a mistake the “always”).

So now lets see the procedure:

Well…its always the same procedure for every fork:

  1. Move all your btc from your current wallet into a new one.
  2. Import the private keys of the now empty BTC wallet into a FORKED COIN supporting wallet and all your forked coin will be inside. ( you can see forked coin as clam / bcc / btg / bcd … other will surely come )

Be aware its easy to scam dont send your private key to anyone … it happened already to send private key to receive a new coin to see only all btc stolen, wait for trusted wallet / source ( and not only btc also all coin you could claim from your private key).

So if you have old wallet and never claimed … you should claim in chronological order…..basically claim CLAMs , then BTX then BCH, then BTG, then BTD, and so on and so on to next fork coin.

So basically every new empty wallet will contain only the coins you claim.

How to Export Private Key on Blockchain.info?

You must be careful of doing this and recommended that do this offline and after you already moved your btc (just to be safe).

Steps:

  • You need  the recovery seed or the 12 phrases, if dont have it yet login to your blockchain.info’s account, go to SETTINGS->Security->Backup Phrase copy this 12 words offline.
  • Write you recover phrase ( on paper is better)
  • Now you need a tool for converting BIP39 mnemonic phrases to addresses and private keys, so download Bip39 Generator.
  • Now GO offline. And run the bip39-standalone.html file in a browser by double clicking it.
  • Enter your Blockchain.info’s recovery phrase on the BIP39 Mnemonic’s text box and wait, once done “Calculating”.
  • Scroll down and you can see in Derive Addresses, all address in your Blockchain.info’s wallet.
  • And now you have to choose the address that you want to recover by selecting and copy its private key. Or if you want to recover all the wallet address in your Blockchain.info’s wallet then you have to copy the Account Extended Private Key, which begins in “xprv” and import it in wallet that supports Bip39 such as like Electrum desktop wallet and Mycelium wallet for android.
  • Last check on Blockchain.info you can see all your address on SETTINGS ->Address and compare to the generated from bip39-standalone.html.
